PHOENIX CITY BRANDING
The Navajo have always sought to build a future on the shoulders of the past. They live to maintain the fertility of the land so that future generations will not only continue to live off of it, but thrive. The advent of green energies has taken this spirit and begun to push it into mainstream thinking. Solar, wind, hydroelectric; these energies have the potential to make Phoenix a model for alternative thinking. Companies and families offering green products or simply embracing a sustainable lifestyle will flourish in Phoenix. Residents will have the opportunity to be active both in their own lives and in the life of the city – working to better themselves and the world around them. Phoenix will honor the Native American heritage it was built on while evolving their spirit to fit 21st century needs.
'Nature meets technology' was the inspiration for the overall aesthetic of this branding system. In addition, the sun played a huge roll in the development of the primary logo mark as well as supporting the cities positioning on green energy; in particular, solar energy. Phoenix has on average nearly 300 days of sunshine per year. So as the natives say, Let's Welcome the Sun.
